Life's Not Fair!

It's been three weeks since the last blog post, which I guess isn't a great posting frequency, but we're definitely making progress from not having a blog at all! Or am I just making myself feel better?

'Summer holiday time' at Socket is nearly over. Oli spent a week in the Canaries in July, and then Mike jetted off to Menorca for a fortnight, due to return next week. During all this frivolity we've actually still been working hard (I promise), besides there's nothing like a week or two away to recharge the batteries and return to work with a renewed vigour!

Anyway, enough about holidays, we're absolutely delighted to be working with the lovely people behind "Life’s Not Fair But… My Knickers Are!" in the design and delivery of their new eCommerce web site.

The site will be selling and showcasing their own brand of underwear and loungewear made from fairtrade certified cotton. They have completely changed the direction of their brand resulting in a much sexier and more sophisticated look which means we have some fantastic visuals to work with.

The system will be delivered on the award winning Magento eCommerce system and will have all the Socket magic sprinkled on to it, so keep your eyes out for when it goes live in September.

Right, back to work! Let's hope the next post is sooner than three weeks.

We're always advising our clients about ways to maximise their online exposure and particularly how effective content can be to increase traffic. So that's why we feel a little ashamed to say, "welcome to our blog" after having been in business for over 20 months.

OK, things have been rather busy of late in Socket towers but I finally snatched the time to start the official Socket blog. We hope it will give you a little insight into who we are and what we do.

The weeks seem to be getting busier as the summer (if you can call it that) draws in; our whiteboard list of current priorities has just entered its second column prompting the ordering of a set of new whiteboard pens.

Aside from creating lists, we're actually working on projects! On the client side of things we are currently developing a new eCommerce store for a Danish fashion range and starting on the specification for a new Barbados tourism site. There are also a number of exciting proposals and pitches in the pipeline.

From the publishing side we are in full force and are now working with 5 talented journalists on a range of exciting consumer websites.

At Socket we always encourage people to get their hands dirty but I'm starting to regret Mike's attempt at making a new sign for the office...
